Getting Started Using Our Products
Get a quick step-by-step overview of the apps from Cognition Labs.
Step-by-step instructions for using the CogniLens app for iOS.
1. Tap the Settings button in the upper right corner. The Settings appear at the bottom of the screen.
2. Make adjustments until the sample text on screen is easier for you to read. You can modify common settings like font, font size, spacing, and page background color. In addition, you can experiment with adjustments for syllable division, selective uppercasing of confusable letters, and vowel color coding.
3. Toggle the Touchwords button to play or silence audio when you tap each word.
4. Once you adjust your reading settings to your liking, they are saved going forward. You can return and adjust them at any time.
1. Tap the Content menu in the lower right corner.
2. To open a file that is stored on your iPhone or iPad, tap the Files icon and choose a file. If you have downloaded or saved any files (such as txt, rtf, or pdf files) they will appear in the window.
3. Select a file to display with your personalized reading settings. We plan to release support for more file formats in the future, in addition to supporting PDFs with embedded images. The current version supports text only.

2. Tap the Scans icon to open the scanner.
3. Find text in your environment, such as a book page, a worksheet, or a menu.
4. Position your camera over a page or block of nearby text. Hold the camera steady until yellow boxes appear around areas of text. You can pinch and zoom to target more specifically.
5. Tap a single highlighted text box or tap the document icon in the lower right to scan all text boxes.
1. Tap the Content menu in the lower right corner.
2. Tap the Notes icon to create a new Note.
3. You can type text directly into the field or you can tap the button labeled Paste from Clipboard to paste the most recent text that you cut or copied to the Clipboard on your device.
4. When you finish entering text in the field, tap the Next button.
5. Your text settings are applied to the text in the Note.
1. Tap the Content menu in the lower right corner.
2. Tap the My Stuff button to open your saved Books (green), Files (red), Scans (yellow), and Notes (blue). Color coding is used to help you keep track.
3. Tap the three dots next to each item to rename or delete.
4. You can swipe from right to left to delete an item.
CogniLens Lite - OCR Scanner App
Step-by-step instructions for using the CogniLens Lite OCR app for Android.
From the Home screen, tap the yellow button labeled Scan Now to open to camera.

Tap the icon in the upper right to open Text Settings. Make adjusts to the settings which include fonts, spacing, colors, vowel sounds, syllables, confusable letter groups, and audio Touchwords. Determine the settings that make it easier for you to read the onscreen text. These settings are stored in the app and are applied to anything you scan. You can adjust the settings at any time.
For convenience, you can share or copy the text you scanned by tapping the Share icon at the top of the screen. Sharing does not share the text with your custom settings; it shares the original pre-processed text.
